Leave the Driving to Metra

Schaumburg's beautiful Metra commuter station located at 2001 S. Springinsguth Road is one of Metra's schaumburg IL metra,schaumburg train station,20 most used stations throughout its entire network of 225 stations.  Service from the station goes east to Chicago's Union Station and west to Elgin.       

There are several ways to get to the Metra station ~~

• Walking:    A pedestrian pathway leads to the station along Springinsguth Road. Please walk ONLY along Springinsguth Road south of Irving Park Road.  Elgin-O'Hare access roads are not designed or recommended for pedestrians.

• Bicycling:    The same path that serves pedestrians also serves bicyclists. Enclosed bike lockers and traditional bicycle racks (under covered shelter) are provided for bicycle parking convenience. Lockers can be leased from the village free of charge but require a refundable lock and key deposit. Request a bike path map or call for questions regarding bicycle parking at 847.923.3861.

• Bus Route 602:    provides two morning (eastbound to Chicago) and two evening (westbound from Chicago) rush hour shuttles to the station from its origin at Salem Drive and Higgins Road. Another option is Schaumburg's Dial-A-Ride Transportation (DART) for those traveling to locations exclusively within Schaumburg.

• Driving:    Schaumburg's commuter rail station has 1,268 parking spaces available in the lot. There are 591 spots dedicated to permit parking, with the remaining 677 spots available for daily parking.

• Parking:    For permit parking, monthly or quarterly parking permits may be purchased through the Finance Department or online at https://secure.assurebuy.com/91320/91320.htm.   The monthly permit fee is $21 and the quarterly fee is $53. Daily parking is available for $1.25 per day.

 

Schaumburg's Metra station features:

• Restroom facilities open during the early morning, afternoon, and evening

• "Coffee Beans," open Monday through Friday between 5:30am - 9:30am

• Comfortable interior seating area

• Sheltered external area

• Kiosks in the station where riders leave used books and newspapers

Gary, your comment made me think about a post I put out where it shows how much money you save by taking the train.

Previous post claims you can save $4000 per year by taking the Schaumburg Train.
