The 60th Old Town Art Fair 2009

This weekend I went and enjoyed one of the most popular events of the summer for me.  I really love to go thru the Old Town Art Fair and see all the wonderfully gifted and talented exhibits (260 artists) that the nation (not only Chicago) has to offer.  I also love the neighborhood and being close to Lincoln Park and the lakefront.  

This year we decided to take my dog, Bella, to see if she would enjoy it.  I was a little reluctant to say the least as she is a total 'gad fly'.  According to her, the entire Fair is held in her honor.  She totally surprised me and I was very proud of her.  She was friendly as usual, but she also decided to be well behaved!   No stealing ice cream from little ones in strollers!  Everyone thoroughly enjoyed her!  

I'm a big fan of the older homes in that area and all the great architecture which I decided to show you in pictures.  Can't see that kind of stuff in Schaumburg!  There were also several 'gardens' on display for all to enjoy.  This is a city phenomena that I think is hilarious!  Let's check out everyone's 3x5 plot of 'green' and see what they have done with plants and bushes.  Most were absolutely gorgeous even by suburban standards and again I was laughing with all the camera buffs trying to take pictures.  Not much green space but what they have they try and play up to the best of their ability!
