The 26th annual National Night Out, a crime/drug prevention event sponsored by the National Association of Town Watch (NATW), has been scheduled for Tuesday, August 4th 2009.  It will take place in the park on Heron Avenue at 6:30 pm.

Last years Night Out campaign involved citizens, law enforcement agencies, civic groups, businesses, neighborhood organizations and local officials from over 10,000 communities from all 50 states!  In all, over 34 million people are participating in National Night Out 2009!

National Night Out is designed to:

  • Heighten crime & drug prevention awareness
  • Generate support for, and participate in, local anti-crime programs
  • Strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships
  • Send a message to criminals letting them know that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back!

Come join in the fun!  There will be hot dogs, drinks and raffle prizes for both kids and adults.  See you at briar pointe schaumburg IL,hot dogsHeron Park at 6:30pm to meet your Village Trustees and your Briar Pointe Board of Directors!

I wonder if we have a national night out here. I haven't heard anything, but I will also admit that our local newspaper seems to announce things on the day of the event, making it difficult to plan ahead.

Russ:  Since it's a national event I'm sure you do.  I would suggest calling the police in your area to find out.
